Until now, AI in TskVlo meant connecting an external assistant like Claude through our MCP server. That’s still there — but as of this week, TskVlo has an AI assistant built right into the app. And in keeping with how we think about AI: you bring your own model.
Draft Tasks from a Conversation
Click AI Assistant in the sidebar, describe what you’re planning, and the assistant proposes structured draft tasks — titles, descriptions, suggested groups. Scope the chat to a board and it sees your actual data: every group and task with statuses, dates, and assignees. Ask “what’s still open in this sprint and who’s overloaded?” and get an answer grounded in your board, not a guess.
The important part: drafts stay drafts. You review the proposals, pick a board and group, and only then are tasks created — all at once, with one click. You can also attach an image, like a photo of your planning whiteboard, and let the assistant turn it into tasks.
Summarize Long Comment Threads
Coming back to a task with 40 comments? The new Summarize with AI button in the comment thread produces a structured digest: a short overview, the decisions made, open questions, and action items — written in the same language as the thread. Post it as a comment to anchor the state of the discussion, or regenerate it anytime.
Bring Your Own AI Compute
We didn’t bundle a model, and we don’t resell tokens. Instead, a workspace admin connects any OpenAI-compatible API under Workspace settings → AI / LLM configuration: base URL, API key, model name, done. That means you can run the assistant on:
- OpenAI — GPT-4o and friends
- Mistral — EU-hosted models, a natural fit for GDPR-sensitive teams
- Groq, Together, OpenRouter — fast hosted inference for open models
- LM Studio, Ollama, vLLM — open models on your own infrastructure
Your board data goes only to the provider you configured, only when someone actively uses an AI feature — and if no endpoint is configured, AI stays completely off. A built-in connection test tells you immediately whether your setup works.
Want the details? The AI assistant guide walks through setup and usage.
Also New: Recurring Tasks
Some work never ends — standups, invoices, weekly reports. Any task can now repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or on a custom interval (“every 2 weeks”). The moment you mark it done, TskVlo creates the next occurrence: same fields and assignees, fresh status, and due dates shifted forward by the interval. The completed task keeps its comments and history, so past occurrences stay on record. Read more in the recurring tasks guide.
Both features are live for all workspaces now. As always: tell us what you think — and what the assistant should learn next.
