Why teams switch to TskVlo

  • All six views included — Trello gates Table, Calendar & Timeline behind Premium
  • Real custom fields (12 types) instead of labels and workarounds
  • Built-in time tracking with reports — no Power-Ups needed
  • Sub-items, dependencies, and recurring tasks out of the box
  • GDPR-compliant, operated by a German company

Where Trello shines

  • Unbeatable simplicity for pure kanban
  • Huge Power-Up ecosystem
  • Mature native mobile apps
  • Familiar to almost everyone

Trello deserves its place in history: it made kanban mainstream by being radically simple. For a personal to-do board or a three-person side project, it’s still hard to beat. But teams grow, and the moment work stops fitting on a card, Trello starts fighting you.

The outgrowing pattern

It usually goes like this: you need a due date and an effort estimate and a client name on each card, so you abuse labels and card titles. You need a monthly overview, so someone pays for Premium to unlock Calendar. You need time tracking, so you bolt on a Power-Up. Six months later your “simple” board is a stack of workarounds.

TskVlo keeps the part of Trello everyone loves — the fast, tactile kanban board — and builds the rest in properly:

  • 12 custom field types: status, people, dates, date ranges, numbers, tags, checkboxes, ratings, progress, URLs, formulas, and text — per board, only what you need.
  • Six views of the same board: Kanban for flow, Table for editing in bulk, Calendar and Timeline for planning, Files for every attachment in one place, Dashboard for charts.
  • Sub-items instead of checklists — nested tasks with their own fields, assignees, and comments.
  • Dependencies: mark that task A blocks task B, with circular-dependency protection. Trello has no native concept of this.

Automation past Butler

Trello’s Butler is clever but metered. TskVlo’s automation rules are straightforward trigger–condition–action definitions per board: when an item moves to “Review”, assign the reviewer; when a due date arrives, notify the assignee; when a linked pull request merges, move the card to Done. Recurring tasks are built into each task’s settings — no automation gymnastics needed.

Time tracking without Power-Ups

Every task has a timer. Run it while you work or log entries manually, then open Reports in the board toolbar for totals by member and by task with CSV export. For agencies and freelancers, this alone replaces a paid add-on.

Where Trello still wins

If all you want is one shared list of cards, Trello’s minimalism is a feature and its mobile apps are excellent. TskVlo aims at the step after that — when the team is real, the work has structure, and you’d rather grow into your tool than out of it.

Switching from Trello

Export your board and import the CSV in TskVlo under Board Settings → Import / Export — lists become groups, and labels become tag fields. Most boards move over in an afternoon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TskVlo as easy to use as Trello?

The core loop is the same: boards, columns, drag-and-drop cards. TskVlo adds depth where Trello relies on workarounds — real custom fields instead of label tricks, sub-items instead of checklists, built-in time tracking instead of Power-Ups — and each board only shows the fields you actually configure.

My team outgrew Trello. What does TskVlo give us?

The usual growing pains — no custom data on cards, no table or timeline view without Premium, no dependencies, scattered Power-Ups — are all covered natively: 12 field types, six views, blocking dependencies, automation rules, time tracking with reports, and dashboards with burndown and workload charts.

Can I import my Trello boards?

Yes, via CSV. Export your Trello board data to CSV (Trello offers JSON natively; CSV export is available on paid Trello plans or via converters), then import it in TskVlo under Board Settings → Import / Export. Lists map to item groups.

What does TskVlo cost compared to Trello?

Trello's free plan caps boards and gates most views behind Premium (~$10/user/month). TskVlo is free during the public beta — all features, unlimited users and boards — and beta users lock in 50% off for life when paid plans launch.
