TskVlo supports importing items from CSV and exporting board data as CSV or JSON β directly from the board settings, or via the REST API for automation.
Exporting a Board
Open the board, go to Board Settings β Import / Export, and choose a format:
- Export CSV β one row per item with columns for Title, Group, and every board field. Opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool.
- Export JSON β a structured export including board metadata, field definitions, groups, and items with their field values. Useful for backups or developer tooling.
The download starts immediately; any workspace member can export.
Exporting via the API
For scheduled backups or scripts, call the export endpoint with an API token:
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer $TOKEN" \
"https://dash.tskvlo.app/api/boards/BOARD_ID/export?format=csv" \
-o board.csv
Use ?format=json for the JSON variant.
Importing Items from CSV
Preparing your CSV
Your CSV must have a header row. The Title column is required. Other column names are matched to field names on the board automatically.
Optional: include a Group column to place items into specific groups by name.
Example:
Title,Group,Status,Priority
Fix login bug,Sprint 14,In Progress,High
Update onboarding docs,Backlog,,Medium
Items without a matching Group name are placed in the first group.
Running the Import
- Open the board and go to Board Settings β Import / Export.
- Under Import items from CSV, click Choose CSV file and select your file.
- Click Import.
TskVlo confirms how many items were imported. Note that viewers cannot import β you need a role with edit access on the board.
Field columns that donβt match a field name are skipped silently.
You can also import programmatically by POSTing the file to https://dash.tskvlo.app/api/boards/BOARD_ID/import as a multipart upload.
Migrating from Another Tool
- Export your data from the other tool as CSV.
- Rename columns to match your TskVlo field names (or add fields first to match your CSV headers).
- Import the file from Board Settings β Import / Export.
Exporting Time Data
For billing and time reports, use the Reports button in the board toolbar. See Reading Time Tracking Reports.
Tips
- Test with a small CSV (5β10 rows) before importing hundreds of items.
- Exports do not include file attachments β download those individually if needed.
