Setting Up Notifications

Configure which events trigger in-app, email, and push notifications so you stay informed without getting overwhelmed.

TskVlo sends notifications when things that matter to you change. Here’s how to control what you receive.

Where Notifications Appear

  • Notifications page: Click Notifications (bell icon) in the sidebar — the badge shows your unread count. The page lists your notifications with read/unread state, filters for Unread only and Mentions only, and a Mark all as read button.
  • Email: Sent to your account email for the notification types you’ve enabled.
  • Push notifications: OS-level alerts on devices where you’ve enabled them — even when TskVlo isn’t open.
  • Desktop app: The unread count also appears in the window title, so you can see it from the taskbar.

Opening Notifications

Click a notification to jump straight to the item it’s about. To keep your current page open, Ctrl/Cmd-click or middle-click the notification — it opens in a new tab and is still marked as read.

Read state stays in sync everywhere. Mark a notification as read in one tab, on another device, or through an AI assistant, and every open TskVlo window updates instantly — badge included, no reload needed.

Events That Trigger Notifications

You receive notifications when:

  • You are @mentioned in a comment
  • A task is assigned to you
  • A comment is added to a task you’re involved with, or someone replies to your comment
  • A new task is created
  • You receive a workspace invitation
  • Someone reacts to your comment
  • An automation rule sends you a notification

Managing Notification Preferences

  1. Click the gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar to open your Settings.
  2. Under Email notifications, choose which notification types also send you an email, then click Save preferences.
  3. Under Push notifications (this device), click Enable push notifications and allow notifications when your browser asks. Which types trigger a push alert is remembered per device.

Following a Board

Subscribe to a board to receive notifications for all its activity. Click Subscribe in the board toolbar to follow the board, and Unsubscribe to stop.

Notifications in Your AI Assistant

Your inbox is also available through the TskVlo MCP server: ask your AI assistant what’s waiting for you, filter by board or date, and mark notifications as read without leaving the chat. See AI integration for details.

Tips

  • Turn off email notifications if you prefer to check the notifications page at set times.
  • Subscribe to key boards to stay informed even when you’re not assigned.
  • Use @mentions in comments to directly notify specific people — it’s more reliable than hoping they check the board.
