Creating Views and Saved Filters

Build custom board perspectives using filters, sort rules, and column visibility, then save your filters as personal named filters — per board or workspace-wide.

Saved filters let you create named perspectives on a board — like “My Open Tasks”, “Sprint 12”, or “Client Review” — without duplicating boards. They are personal to each user and can be scoped to one board or made available workspace-wide.

Available View Types

TskVlo offers six view types:

ViewBest for
TableSpreadsheet-style editing, bulk updates, planning
KanbanVisual workflow, daily standups, drag-and-drop
TimelineGantt-style scheduling, date-based planning
CalendarDate-field based calendar overview
DashboardMetric charts and aggregated statistics
FilesEvery board upload, task attachment, and comment file in one place

Click the view type buttons in the board toolbar to switch views — on mobile, pick the view from the dropdown instead. Your active filters carry over between views, and each board reopens in the view you used last.

The Files view has its own controls: a source filter (All, Board uploads, Task attachments), a file-name search, a Grid/List toggle, and grouping by status, group, or date added. See Using the Files View for details.

Applying Filters

  1. Click Filter in the board toolbar.
  2. Click + Add Filter.
  3. Choose a field, an operator (is, is not, contains, is empty, etc.), and a value.
  4. Add more filters — they combine with AND logic by default.

Example filters:

  • Assignee = Me (shows only your tasks)
  • Status ≠ Done (hides completed items)
  • Due Date < Today (overdue tasks)
  • Priority = High AND Status = In Progress

Use workspace search when you need to find work across boards. Search matches item titles, item IDs, item descriptions, and text custom-field values. Recent search improvements make custom-field text matching more reliable, including values stored in JSON-backed fields.

For tag-heavy boards, the tag field now also helps keep labels easier to reuse: tag suggestions appear while editing, and tag chips use the same color palette across editing, board display, and shared views.

Sorting Items

  1. Click Sort in the toolbar.
  2. Choose a field and direction (ascending / descending).
  3. Add multiple sort levels — items sort by the first rule, then by the second for ties.

Grouping Items (Table view)

  1. Click Group by in the toolbar.
  2. Choose a field. Items are grouped by unique values of that field.

Example: Group by Assignee to see who has what. Group by Status to see a column-like breakdown in Table view.

Adjusting Density

Click Density in the toolbar and choose Compact, Comfortable, or Spacious. Compact fits more rows on screen; Spacious gives each item more room. Density applies to Table, Kanban, Calendar, and Timeline. On mobile, density, sort, and field options sit behind the Options button.

Filtering the Dashboard by Period

In Dashboard view, use the period filter — All time, Today, Week, or Quarter — to narrow the KPI tiles, status chart, items per assignee, and progress by group. Your choice is remembered per board.

Hiding Columns

In Table view, click Columns in the toolbar and toggle fields on/off. Hidden fields still exist and retain their values — they’re just not displayed.

Saving a Filter

Once you’ve set up your filters:

  1. Click Save Filter in the filter panel.
  2. Enter a name and choose the scope — this board only, or workspace-wide.
  3. Click Save.

The filter appears in your saved filter list. Saved filters are personal — they don’t change what your teammates see.

Editing or Deleting a Filter

Click the ··· menu next to a filter name in your saved filter list. You can rename it, update it with current settings, or delete it.

Tips

  • Use the built-in My Tasks view to see everything assigned to you across all boards — in list or calendar mode, grouped by Overdue, Today, This Week, and Later.
  • Name filters descriptively: “Sprint 14 — Active” beats “Filter 3”.
  • Saved filters are personal — edit or delete yours freely without affecting teammates.
